Item 1 of 1

We believe that everyone deserves a set of keys that opens the door to a welcoming, healthy, sustainable home.

The production of affordable homes is central to TND’s mission. In 2020, as part of our strategic plan, TND embarked on building or preserving 325 more affordable homes by 2024. We are well on our way to meeting this ambitious goal, with affordable homes opening in Chelsea, Revere, and Everett.

In 2024, TND’s portfolio is growing to 712 homes serving over 1,600 people. Currently, the team is managing projects that will create another 300 homes over the next several years.

TND also constructs homes for sale aiming to provide greater access to the benefits of homeownership for low and moderate-income households as well as People of Color. TND has created 44 affordable homes for purchase and is managing projects that will create another eleven homes.

Our real estate team partners with many public and private institutions as new homes are conceived, designed, financed, and constructed. Read about each project—those that are completed and those that are in construction or early stages of pre-development.

For more than a decade, TND has built homes to the highest green-building standards. We are committed to eco-friendly, energy-efficient, and healthy living spaces.

We are proud to be the first to achieve Passive House Certification for a multifamily building in Chelsea, with our 1005 Broadway project. Passive homes are known for their exceptional energy savings.

Highland Terrace, was Chelsea’s first LEED Platinum certified property. LEED certifies a building’s holistic approach to sustainable design.

Our two buildings currently under construction, 170 Cottage and 25 Sixth Street, are Passive House design certified.

Leading the Charge in Solar Innovation

TND is installing solar panels on the rooftops of our properties. Our commitment to solar energy underscores our dedication to sustainability and reducing our carbon footprint.

"In our area, people have to work 87 hours a week to afford a home. Our people work hard, but are not getting ahead. …This is why equity [associated with homeownership] is so important."

— Congresswoman Pressley, after visiting 25 Sixth Street, one of TND’s projects in development.
